Piston and cylinder assembly kit for Husqvarna 41, 141 and 142 chainsaws — 40mm bore.

A complete top end in one box. When a saw has lost compression, scored a bore or swallowed something it shouldn't have, a new cylinder and piston brings it back without the cost of a replacement machine.

IMPORTANT: We STRONGLY recommend using a fuel mix ratio of 25:1. This cylinder has a chrome coating.

These saws leave the factory with a 38mm bore. Fitting this kit takes them out to 40mm, which is a small capacity increase over standard — worth knowing before you order, and a popular upgrade on these saws. Everything bolts straight on.

Before you start:

This cylinder does not require a base gasket. Use gasket glue instead.
This cylinder does not have a decompression hole.

Fitting tip:

Two-stroke rings sit over a locating pin in the piston groove that stops the ring rotating into a port. Make sure the ring gap seats either side of that pin before sliding the piston into the cylinder — forcing it in misaligned will break the ring.

Replacement rings for this kit are available separately if you only need to refresh the ring.

WHAT IS COVERED?

The exact warranty coverage depends on two factors:

Whether the fault is due to user error or a manufacturer defect
Whether the fault is minor or major

Minor faults caused by the user

Parts will be supplied for repair at the user's expense.

Minor faults caused by the manufacturer

Customers are expected to perform basic repairs as part of our warranty process.
Jono & Johno will provide replacement parts and instructions for simple repairs, such as installing a recoil starter.
Jono & Johno will determine whether a fault is classified as minor.
If unsure about a repair, contact us, and we’ll assist you.

Major faults caused by the manufacturer

Jono & Johno will arrange a return, refund, or replacement at our expense.
If preferred (and at our discretion), we may provide replacement parts and contribute to labour costs if you can perform the repair.

Major faults caused by the user

Where possible, parts will be supplied at the user's expense.
If the item cannot be repaired by the user, we offer repairs at our workshop at $80 AUD per hour.
The customer will need to cover return shipping costs for user-related faults.

RETURN PROCESS & SHIPPING COSTS

If you need to return your product:

In-store return: If you're near a Jono & Johno outlet, you can return the product in person. Contact us first to arrange a return authority.
Shipping return: If you are not within driving distance, we will provide a return address.
- If the fault is due to a manufacturer defect, we’ll cover return costs.
- If the fault is user-related, the customer is responsible for return shipping.

EXCEPTIONS TO THE RULE

Some products are not covered by warranty, including:

Engines used in go-karts and stump grinders

OUT-OF-WARRANTY PRODUCTS

If your product is out of warranty and has failed despite minimal use, contact us. We may assess it on a case-by-case basis. If a manufacturer defect is identified, we aim to be fair in resolving the issue—but this is at our discretion.
